Pastels
by Leni Gaudet Leni Gaudet is an award-winning artist who started her painting career more than 40 years ago. She specializes in the medium of artists’ chalk known as pastels. This allows her to paint with a wonderful depth of color and detail. Working from photographs, she can create beautiful renditions of cats, dogs, horses, or any other furry friend. Although most animals she paints are current members of the family, she is often commissioned to create an homage to the memory of a pet that has passed on. She loves painting and is pleased to see the looks on peoples’ faces when they view the finished pet portrait. Leni is credited with the uncanny ability to truly capture the personality of each animal on canvas. Leni has been commissioned by pet owners across the country, from Vermont and North Carolina to California. Typically, she creates art for a variety of mixed-breed animals, but she has also painted pure breeds, such as the Bernese Mountain Dog, Black Lab, Bichon Frise and Welsh Corgi, just to name a few. With permission from the owners of the portraits, she has developed a line of prints, notecards and giftcards, which are offered for sale here on Shop Western Mass. She has also exhibited her artwork over the years in a variety of New England art shows and galleries. |
